The Lubbock MLS is currently showing 1,595 single family properties for sale in the Lubbock area.  Due to the number of properties for sale, and the all time lowest interest rates in history, this is the most affordable time in history to be a home buyer.

Lenders are making loans only to those with very good credit ratings and good job stability.  If you feel secure in your employment and will be staying in Lubbock for more than 4 years, you should be looking to purchase.  Owning is currently less expensive than renting. 

Current interest rates for 30 year loans are 3 3/4 % on FHA/VA and 3 3/4 % for conventional.  15 year loans are 3 % FHA and       3 1/8 % conventional with no discount points.
